Ashley Capps – Keynote Speaker on Friday - Ashley Capps of Knoxville, TN founded the company AC Entertainment in 1991 and today it is one of the largest entertainment music production companies in the Southeast and known nationally. Capps got his start as a music promoter during the 1970s, when he booked events at the University of Tennessee and at off-campus venues in Knoxville. In 1988 he opened a music club in Knoxville called Ella Guru's, which he closed in 1990 to re-focus his energies on forming AC Entertainment. Ashley Capps is best known for event Production, talent buying, festival and event consulting, and theater management. AC Entertainment is nationally known as the co-producers of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Vegoose, both with Superfly Productions, as well as serving as exclusive talent buyer for the Orange Peel. In Knoxville, they are best known as the managers of the Tennessee Theatre and Bijou Theatre, producers of "Sundown in the City", a summer concert festival in Market Square, and Talent Buyers for the Valarium. AC Entertainment also maintains the Great Stage Park festival ground, on the same property that annually hosts Bonnaroo. This site is promoted as a for-lease property to serve anyone looking to stage a special event. Additionally, they produce and promote a variety of music and performing arts events across the country with an emphasis on the Southeast and hold artist contracts with many leading up and coming music acts. The company was also involved in starting the alternative weekly Metro Pulse, although the two companies are now independent.
Jen Foster – Keynote Speaker on Saturday – Jen Foster is an award-winning singer/songwriter who runs her independent record label, Fosterchild Records, in Nashville, TN. Influenced heavily by classic artists such as the Rolling Stones, U2, and Bob Dylan, Jen has spent a large part of the last 2 years in a Nashville recording studio working on her recently released third album, "Thirty-Nine." Along with her producer, Greg Droman, Jen put together an all-star group of musicians to perform on the tracks, including Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow), Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, The Wallflowers), Sean Hurley (John Mayer, Vertical Horizon) and Fred Eltringham (The Wallflowers, Dixie Chicks, The Wreckers). The project embodies a blend of sounds which range from soft, lazy-day melodies to more raucous guitar-driven tracks. Some of these new songs have already garnered Jen national attention: the single "Closer to Nowhere" won first place in the International Songwriting Competition (Triple A category) and the accompanying music video for the song hit 1 for several weeks on the LOGO network. In addition, Jen's original song, "Venice Beach", was a finalist in the 2008 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, as well as in the New York Songwriter's Circle. Previously, Jen has also secured some impressive Film/TV placements with songs placed in the popular television soap opera "All My Children" and an "American Pie" movie sequel. When she's not busy recording or writing and co-writing songs in Nashville, Jen also tours nationally and has shared stages with Melissa Etheridge, John Mayer, Patty Griffin and many others.

She has been a District Manager for both Toys R Us and Mikasa (Dinnerware), owned a Restaurant & Catering Business, and returned to school to get a Utility Engineer license and became an owner of an Underground Utilities Company. She released her first CD in September 2003 called “Don’t Forget To Breathe”. Not knowing the industry at all she researched and self-booked a tour up and down the east coast in 2004 and sold over 5,000 copies of her CD and won several songwriting competitions including the famous North Carolina “Cape Fear Festival Songwriter Showdown” where she was the only female in the finals with 9 male songwriters from around the United States. This started her cult following in the southeast. She released her second CD “Horizons” in 2005 to even more praise and great reviews. Along the way she founded Indie Music For Life nonprofit to raise money for cancer research and took over the Indiegrrl networking group forming the nonprofit Indiegrrl Women in the Arts. In 2007 Vicki was diagnosed with leukemia and continues to fight this disease. She gives countless volunteer hours to produce events and educational opportunities to benefit Indie Artists as the President of Indiegrrl Women in the Arts.
